The Resident Advisory Council

To better address the needs of the recovery community and incorporate the perspectives of recovery home residents, MASH created the Resident Advisory Council.

This is a group of former and current recovery home residents tasked with:

  • Sharing their insights into the current state of the recovery field

  • Identifying the most pressing needs of the recovery community

  • Providing MASH with feedback on its policies and actions

The RAC is made up of at least 5 members with the only requirement being 6 months of experience living in a recovery home. Members of the RAC meet amongst themselves around 4 times a year and have a discussion with the board of directors at least 2 times a year.

MASH will ensure that the RAC reflects a large diversity of perspectives and backgrounds. We encourage members of marginalized groups, especially Indigenous or African American communities, to join the council.
