Ryan Hamilton

Ryan E. Hamilton is a strategic thinker, lawyer, and public policy expert with over 15 years of experience in government relations, public policy, and legal counsel. Throughout his career, Ryan has been instrumental in advancing legislative initiatives and shaping policy to support organizations and individuals in the behavioral health and recovery spaces.
In his most recent role as Vice President of Government Affairs and General Counsel at NUWAY Alliance, Ryan provided legal and regulatory guidance to senior executives at a nonprofit healthcare provider, overseeing compliance and navigating complex healthcare regulations. He has also served as Director of Government Relations at the Minnesota Catholic Conference, where he successfully led advocacy efforts, developed policy proposals, and built key relationships with legislators and state leaders.
Ryan’s extensive experience also includes serving as Associate Legal Counsel and Government Affairs Director for the Minnesota Association of REALTORS®, where he spearheaded public policy advocacy, legal counsel, and regulatory initiatives.
As President of MASH, Ryan applies his expertise in policy development, coalition-building, and strategic legislative engagement to ensure the success of recovery residences across Minnesota. His mission-driven approach focuses on strengthening the standards and sustainability of sober living environments, advocating for policies that improve access to quality recovery housing for individuals in recovery.
Matthew Mortinson
Executive Director, Patient Access, EOSIS

Matthew Mortinson has been actively involved in the behavioral health field since 2005, with a focus on business development, marketing, and treatment services. He joined the EOSIS team in 2018 as a Business Development and Marketing Representative, bringing his experience and dedication to improving recovery services. After a brief role as Executive Director of St. Paul Sober Living, he returned to EOSIS in 2021 as the Treatment Director of EOSIS Bridge in Sauk Rapids, MN. In his current role as Executive Director of Patient Access, Matt continues to support individuals in their recovery journey.
In addition to his professional work, Matt is an active member of the recovery community and serves as the Treasurer for the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes (MASH). His commitment to supporting and advancing sober living environments plays a key role in MASH's mission to enhance recovery housing across Minnesota.
Randy Young
Owner, Snelling House

Randy Young is a dedicated leader in the recovery community and the owner of Snelling Recovery House, a men’s sober living home located in the Como Park neighborhood of St. Paul. Randy has owned and managed Snelling Recovery House for 23 years. He has also served as a past president of the MASH board and has committed many years to supporting the association’s mission.
Randy spent over ten years as the director of Christ Recovery Center (CRC), where he himself once battled addiction before finding strength and restoration through his faith in Christ. Having helped countless individuals find healing and peace, Randy continues to volunteer and stay involved in the CRC brotherhood even after his retirement.
In addition to his recovery work, Randy is the president of Furniture Barn, a family-owned and operated furniture store that has served the Midway community for 46 years. His vast experience in recovery housing and community service continues to inspire and guide MASH in supporting sober living environments throughout Minnesota.
Dan Maher
Owner, The Anthony House

Dan Maher is the founder and owner of The Anthony House, which he established in 2008, followed by Jake’s Place in 2017, Michael’s Place in 2019, and Colin’s Place in 2022. Motivated by his own challenging experiences and the struggles he saw others facing in the recovery housing community, Dan dedicated himself to creating accessible, quality recovery housing. His properties are designed to support individuals in recovery by offering stable, substance-free environments without time limitations, allowing residents to take on greater responsibility for their actions.
A long-time supporter of the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes (MASH), Dan is committed to ensuring safety and quality standards in the recovery housing community. He advocates for a thorough housing inspection process to maintain high standards and ensure the safety and well-being of residents. Through his work and leadership, Dan continues to contribute to the mission of creating safe, supportive, and sustainable recovery housing for individuals on their recovery journey.
Mike Beltowsky
Vice President of Program Development, Horowitz Health

Mike Beltowsky brings over 15 years of leadership and strategic partnership experience to his role on the MASH Board. As Vice President of Program Development at Horowitz Health, Mike has played a key role in launching innovative programs such as Gateway Recovery Center, Elite Recovery, The Landing Mental Health, and Recovery Homes of Minnesota. His work focuses on expanding access to care, elevating standards, and reducing stigma related to substance use and mental health.
With a background that includes leadership roles at nationally recognized brands and international startups, Mike combines entrepreneurial vision with healthcare expertise to drive client-centered care. He is actively involved in legislative advocacy and payer-provider partnerships to strengthen Medicaid and protect vulnerable populations in recovery.
In addition to his MASH Board role, Mike serves on the boards of the Minnesota Association of Resources for Recovery and Chemical Health (MARRCH) and the Dakota County Opioid Advisory Committee, advancing statewide policy and collaborative solutions in behavioral health.
Mike holds a degree in Business Management from the University of St. Thomas and is committed to promoting community wellness and ethical program development, aligning with MASH’s mission to uphold high standards in sober living.
Chris Edrington
Owner, St. Paul Sober Living

Chris Edrington is the founder of St. Paul Sober Living and a dedicated leader in the recovery community. Overcoming a decade-long struggle with heroin addiction, Chris found sobriety in Minnesota in 1998, where he began to build a new life surrounded by those committed to recovery. With over 25 years of sobriety, he is passionate about creating supportive recovery environments, having contributed significantly to both Minnesota and Colorado's recovery residence landscape.
A co-founder of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR), Chris has also served as the Past President of the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes. His leadership emphasizes the importance of community and high standards in recovery housing, ensuring that individuals have access to safe, supportive, and transformative environments.
Nolan Mulligan, MHA

Nolan Mulligan is a healthcare leader with a Master of Healthcare Administration and a strong dedication to advancing mental health and substance use treatment. He currently serves as the Director of Business Development for Capitol Park Mental Health Hospital, where he leads strategic initiatives to improve access to care, foster community partnerships, and drive sustainable growth. With nearly a decade of experience in behavioral health, Nolan brings a wealth of knowledge in client advocacy, relationship-building, and mission-driven leadership.
As the Secretary of the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes (MASH), Nolan is committed to supporting the organization's mission to enhance recovery housing standards and advocate for improved recovery services. His passion for improving behavioral health systems and collaborating with others in the recovery and wellness community aligns with MASH’s goals to create safe, supportive environments for individuals in recovery.
Barb Madigan
Owner, Saint Paul Spirit House

Barb Madigan has been actively involved in the recovery community since 1988. In 2003, she and her husband transformed their family home into the original Saint Paul Spirit House, a sober living environment where men are encouraged to grow spiritually.
As a founding member of the Minnesota Association of Sober Homes (MASH) in 2007, Barb has played a key role in establishing regulatory standards and improving the quality and sustainability of sober living homes in the Saint Paul area.
In response to the growing need for sober housing, Barb expanded their efforts, opening additional homes to support the recovery community. Today, Saint Paul Spirit House operates multiple homes, offering a supportive, structured environment for individuals in recovery.
Krista Johnson
Owner, Meraki Recovery Housing

Krista Johnson is a career nurse and realtor who, after years of experience in healthcare, made the decision to dedicate the latter part of her career to supporting others in recovery through housing. In 2018, Krista founded Meraki Recovery Housing with a single house in Anoka County, and since then, she has grown the organization to operate eight recovery residences.
Passionate about helping those recovering from substance use disorder (SUD), Krista is committed to providing top-quality recovery housing environments. She is deeply dedicated to being progressive and continuously working to elevate the standards of recovery residences throughout Minnesota, ensuring that all recovery homes are the best they can be for residents on their path to healing.
